$4.2M net-new pipeline in 6 months
A Series-B embedded-finance platform needed an outbound motion that could withstand SOC 2 and SEC-adjacent scrutiny. We built a compliant outbound engine — every message auditable, every suppression permanent — and sourced $4.2M in qualified pipeline in 6 months without a single compliance escalation.
The situation
A Series B embedded-finance platform had been told "no outbound" by legal after a previous agency sent cold emails that got a FINRA-adjacent complaint. The founders needed the pipeline but weren't willing to eat another near-miss.
The compliance constraints
Before writing a single message, we built the compliance spine:
- Jurisdiction matrix. Which countries are OK to send to by default (US with CAN-SPAM footer, UK with LIA), which are gated (Canada — no-send without express consent).
- Provenance trail. Every prospect row has an immutable
prospect_sourcesrecord: URL, fetched_at, method. Never deleted. - Consent status on every prospect: none / implied / express. Messages only send when the status permits it for the target jurisdiction.
- Suppression list consulted on every send, permanent. Unsubscribes and complaints append, never delete.
- Physical address + one-click unsub in every message, plus
List-UnsubscribeandList-Unsubscribe-PostRFC 8058 headers.
Legal signed off in 3 weeks. That's the real unlock.
What we shipped
Outbound engine. A list of 8,400 compliant prospects across US + UK, sourced from Google Places + OSM + public company websites (never LinkedIn scraping). Each prospect row carries a provenance record and a consent status.
Messaging. Three templates per jurisdiction, each with merge fields generated by an AI agent pulling signals from the prospect's website. Every send logs the final rendered message for audit.
Feedback loop. Replies go to replies@outreach.nextscalability.com (Resend Inbound). In-Reply-To matching flips status to engaged, Slack-pings #sales within 60 seconds. Hard bounces and complaints append to the permanent suppression list automatically.
The numbers now
$4.2M in net-new qualified pipeline over 6 months. Zero compliance escalations. The VP Marketing sleeps at night.
What's next
Phase 2 opens the engine to EU (GDPR legitimate-interest assessment route) + extends the AI-agent personalization to voicemail drop scripts. Same compliance spine, wider reach.
